About the role

Auria is a leading global supplier of highly-engineered systems for automotive flooring, acoustical, thermal, aerodynamic, and other fiber-based solutions for gas and electric vehicles. With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical, and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide. This position is located at our Saint Clair Plant in Saint Clair, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing facilities.
  • Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to electrical and instrumentation performance.
  • Participate in project teams and all activities related to engineering technical support.
  • PLC programming, HMI programming, Vision System programming, and VFD configuration (Rockwell, Siemens, Cognex, Keyence, SEW, Lenze).
  • Design and implementation of electrical systems.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
  • Confirm systems and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods.
  • Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements and researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Review electrical engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians.
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures and requesting repair service.
  • Maintain product database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Perform any additional reasonable requests deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical experience with a minimum of five (5) years preferred.

Skills

  • PC Hardware setup, troubleshooting, maintaining.
  • Basic LAN knowledge and functionality (TCP/IP).
  • Basic LAN hardware knowledge (switches, cabling, routers).
  • Software installation/upgrading.
  • Network printing.
  • Basic AD knowledge (disable users, change passwords).
  • Windows 7.
  • Installing/troubleshooting label printers and handheld scanners.
  • Backup exec (or similar software).
  • Ability to read and update electrical schematic drawings.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systems involving Urethane reaction injection molding, Rotational dry cast cells, Vacuum forming, Paint cells, Laser scoring, water jets, sonic and vibration welding, and others.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Omron PLC/HMI systems.
  • Industrial protocols such as Ethernet, Profibus, RS-232, Devicenet, DH+.
  • Strong deductive reasoning/problem-solving skills.
  • Visual Basic or other software design is a plus.
  • AutoCAD design software.
