About the role
The Controls Engineer supports ongoing engineering projects and develops software and programming for wind tunnel controls systems in an aerospace industry setting. Daily tasks include configuring and programming NI hardware and software that controls wind tunnels and instrumentation. The role also involves troubleshooting control software and generating detailed software documentation.
Responsibilities
- Configure and program NI hardware and software for wind tunnel controls systems.
- Provide troubleshooting support for control software.
- Generate detailed software documentation describing developed modules.
- Review software module source code and participate in peer reviews.
- Exercise creative thinking to advance business performance.
- Provide technical support to customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, BSCS (Computer Science), BSCE (Computer Engineering), B.S.E.E. (Electrical Engineering), or related field with 7 – 10 years of on-the-job work experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in real-time embedded control.
- Programming skills including proficiency with ANSI C, Java, C++, LabVIEW, Matlab, Microsoft Office, and various system software control architectures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Exhibits a high degree of corporate maturity, committed to production uptime and data integrity.
