Controls Engineer
About the role
The successful candidate will lead and manage high-visibility projects involving the design and implementation of control systems, with a focus on industrial automation and safety-segregated control architecture. They will also lead technical design reviews, coordinate with global design teams and vendors, and drive process improvements.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Structured Text (ST) programming language
- Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in industrial control systems
- Experience with Linux-based Industrial PCs (IPCs)
- Understanding of safety-segregated control architecture
- Proficiency in PLC development and logic implementation
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Electrical or Controls Systems Engineering or a related STEM field
- Operations Management/Distribution Center experience
- Experience in technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects or programs
- Knowledge to communicate to vendors and make decisions using industry standard knowledge
- Controls theory mechanical/electrical systems and passive infrastructure
- Knowledge of codesys IPC technologies and Ethernet networks
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience to build relationships with business partners and key stakeholders
- Written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and project management skills
- PLC code development and software deployment experience
- Knowledge to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Knowledge with Functional Safety standards IEC 62061 ISO 13849 or IEC 61508
- Knowledge with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project, and Outlook
Skills
- Knowledge of Siemens automation platforms (TIA Portal, STEP 7) and Rockwell Automation systems (Studio 5000, ControlLogix)
- Familiarity with warehouse automation and logistics systems
- Experience with code standardization and specification development

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
