About the role
Seeking a Controls Engineer 2 to support the calibration, design, analysis, and validation of engine control systems in both simulation and real-engine environments. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in feedback controls, MATLAB/Simulink, and root cause problem solving who enjoys hands-on testing and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate engine control systems in simulation and on-engine test environments.
- Analyze engine performance data and present findings to technical teams.
- Design, test, evaluate, modify, and calibrate control systems and related instruments.
- Perform control system design and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Troubleshoot hardware and process issues using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
- Support electrical and control system development while adhering to project schedules, safety objectives, and engineering requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; applicable graduate-level education may be considered equivalent experience.
- Experience with feedback control of dynamic systems.
- Proficiency in control systems design and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong problem-solving skills utilizing root cause analysis techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with engine controls calibration and validation.
- Internship or professional experience related to engine controls systems.
- Experience working in laboratory, test cell, or engine development environments.

Work Environment

- Collaborative team structure consisting of a Program Lead, Technical Lead, and Controls Engineer.
Schedule
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (hours may shift based on test cell timing; maximum 8 hours per day).
Pay
$42.00 - $50.00/hour
