Controls Application Engineer

Job Duties / General Requirements

• Involvement in Building Automation and Energy Management Controls
• Controls Service, Construction Startup, and Controls Programming
• Certified in controls programming of BACNet Advance Application Controllers
• Certified and proficient in programming and Niagara AX or N4
• IT computer networking proficiency
• Perform diagnostics, repair, and programming in the field
• Oversee more complex jobs involving subcontractors and self-performed work
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and in-house control systems
• Programming of controllers and graphical user interface in Tridium AX or N4 environment
• Experience with AutoCad and KMC
• Oversee field installation of energy management systems
• Respond promptly to customers, generate quotes, troubleshoot problems, and close orders
• Complete internal project updates to other departments and management
• Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, or marketing events as required
• Manage on-site performance to ensure projects are completed professionally and on time
• Support and manage others in the controls and mechanical service division
• Conduct project reviews with owners and manage the project closeout process
• Review monthly job cost evaluations and cost-to-complete projections
• Provide internal project updates to other departments and management
• Coordinate activities of subcontractors to maintain project schedules
• Ensure safety and effectiveness in all assigned work
• Resolve project problems via clear communications with relevant parties

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5+ years of Controls Engineering experience
