Controls and Automation Lead Engineer 1
About the role
As a Controls and Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in project execution, following TechnipFMC’s engineering processes and industry standards. You will contribute technically to project teams, taking responsibility for specific project schedule elements and deliverables. Your expertise will involve providing technical solutions to meet project requirements, proactively identifying and addressing risks and challenges, and independently designing intricate subsea equipment. You will also produce essential electrical designs, configurations, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the Controls and Automation technical scope for a project or series of related projects.
- Document and adhere to system and product requirements.
- Conceptualize and perform design activities, including conducting internal technical reviews to freeze requirements and system/product designs.
- Develop, build, test, assemble, and configure project deliverables, including Factory Acceptance and Integration Tests.
- Complete and deliver design packages for topsides and subsea controls equipment.
- Support projects and products throughout the project/product lifecycle.
- Set up and configure test equipment such as industrial computers, virtual machines, routers, switches, and TechnipFMC proprietary equipment.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of Controls and Automation.
- Specific knowledge of TechnipFMC topsides control equipment (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience working in technical teams responsible for execution of projects constrained by safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
- Ability to make independent system recommendations utilizing advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy, dependability, and ability to manage schedule and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently as a self-motivated self-starter.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively transfer subject matter expertise.
