About the role
Join Trane Technologies’ best-in-class Commercial HVAC team as a Controls Account Manager. This role focuses on developing long-term customer relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, and building owners to deliver energy-efficient building solutions through Controls and Building Automation offerings. You will drive business strategy by identifying customer needs, creating tailored HVAC controls solutions, and fostering profitable partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation to develop HVAC controls solutions addressing customer problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
- Identify customer needs and current market opportunities to align Trane’s offerings with demand.
- Assemble and coordinate acquisition teams for customer projects, ensuring the right resources are engaged.
- Convert leads into opportunities by defining sales processes, assigning team members, and outlining next steps.
- Develop and execute account-specific business plans to establish strong, profitable customer partnerships.
- Answer technical questions about HVAC systems, Trane products, controls, installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Plan and prioritize daily customer visits and engagements independently.
Requirements
- 4+ years of demonstrated experience or a Bachelor of Science degree.
- 2+ years of solution sales experience.
- Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with leadership principles are prioritized.
- Valid driver’s license in state of residence with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving) or multiple minor infractions/preventable collisions in the past 3 years.
- This is a safety-sensitive role requiring additional drug screening.
Pay
Annual base salary range: $99,275 – $168,300. This is a salaried position with incentive eligibility, including sales commission opportunities. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
