Account Executive - Nashville
About the role
The Regional Market Account Executive is responsible for driving profitable growth by selling and servicing group benefit solutions to small and mid-sized employers across the U.S., with a primary focus on Tennessee, inclusive of Nashville, East Tennessee, and Memphis. This role is a critical contributor to expanding MetLife’s presence in the Regional Market segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales and servicing activities for assigned group customer accounts and territory, managing the full sales lifecycle from quoting through renewal
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive new sales, renewals, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities while growing a profitable book of business
- Build and maintain strong broker and consultant relationships, serving as the primary benefits resource and trusted advisor
- Position MetLife’s full portfolio of group benefit solutions by coordinating cross-channel offerings, including Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, Voluntary Worksite Benefits, and MetLife Legal
- Collaborate with internal partners and key accounts to deliver stewardship meetings, support implementations and post-sale service, share marketplace insights, and identify profitable growth opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Active Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire
- 5+ years of experience in insurance or related sales experience
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, including presentation, negotiation, and influencing abilities
- Demonstrated listening and problem-solving skills with a client-first mindset
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to engage with brokers and clients in market
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Proven experience managing broker/consultant relationships in the small to mid-market segment
