About the role
Our client is seeking a Controller to support the accounting operations of its hospital division. This role will play a critical role in strengthening financial reporting, improving processes, and supporting a high‑growth healthcare platform. The position works closely with executive leadership and is ideal for a candidate with strong hospital accounting experience who is looking to step into a leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month‑end close, general ledger, and financial reporting for hospital and related entities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and reporting requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with leadership.
- Assist in building and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and SOPs.
- Partner with operations to provide financial insight and performance analysis.
- Support audit processes and ensure readiness for external and regulatory reviews.
- Assist with multi‑entity accounting across hospitals, surgical centers, and imaging facilities.
- Help scale the accounting function to support rapid growth and expansion initiatives.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff as the team grows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA candidate preferred).
- 5+ years of hospital or healthcare experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in accounting and healthcare.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial operations.
- Experience in multi‑entity or complex healthcare environments.
- Proven ability to operate in a hands‑on, fast‑paced, growth environment.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Experience working with hospital systems or surgical centers.
- Exposure to ERP systems (Meditech or similar a plus).
