Controller (Interim)
About the role
Korn Ferry is seeking experienced Controllers for interim, project-based, and consulting engagements with clients across a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, financial services, technology, private equity, and nonprofit organizations. These opportunities range from backfilling key leadership positions to driving strategic finance and accounting initiatives. This role is ideal for accounting leaders who can quickly assess business needs, drive improvements, and make an immediate impact within client organizations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Lead process improvements, system implementations, and special projects.
- Coordinate audits and support regulatory and tax requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Dynamics.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
