About the Role
Vogelpohl Fire Equipment Inc is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Controller to join our team in Erlanger, KY. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and oversee financial risk management
- Lead and mentor accounting staff to maintain a high-performing finance team
- Cook up with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial advisors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in a product-based or service industry environment is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
