The Role

Reporting directly to the Associate CFO, the Controller serves as a key financial leader responsible for General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cash Management, and Capital Asset Management. The position plays a critical role in financial reporting, strategic planning, operational improvement, staff development, and organizational decision-making.

    • Deep understanding of healthcare accounting, financial reporting, reimbursement, budgeting, and audit processes

    • Ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results
    • Desire and capability to grow into a senior executive finance leadership role

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Public or Health Service Administration or Finance
  • Seven to Ten years’ experience in a hospital, including at least five years supervision above the first supervisory level
  • Knowledge of hospital generally accepted accounting principles, consolidated accounting concepts, implementation of accounting and reporting systems, critical analysis of data and measurement of financial performance
  • Maintain awareness of trends in accounting/financial presentation and governmental third party payor reimbursement policies, standards, and procedures
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with vendors and the hospital staff
  • Ability to effectively present information to executive management and board of directors
  • Experience in organizing and leading teams
  • Knowledge of standard problem solving and management information systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • CPA certificate
