Controller
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and daily accounting operations
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Perform cost accounting, job costing, profitability analysis, and commission calculations
- Manage multi-state sales & use tax filings and 1099 reporting
- Partner with the CFO on financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements
- Lead and mentor the accounting team while ensuring strong segregation of duties
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in accounting or controllership with progressively increasing responsibility
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close
- Construction or project-based industry experience is a plus
This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial analysis that supports strategic business decisions.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is USD120000 - USD130000 per year. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
