About the role
Join a rapidly growing, family-owned North Texas organization as an Interim Controller, partnering directly with the CFO during a period of significant expansion. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for a seasoned consultant who can quickly step in, take ownership of accounting operations, and make an immediate impact without extensive onboarding.
Responsibilities
- Own month-end close and financial reporting
- Manage AP, AR, collections, billing, and cash flow
- Review journal entries and manage the general ledger
- Ensure sales tax compliance
- Onboard vendors and manage credit reviews
- Work independently with minimal oversight and integrate into a lean, entrepreneurial team
- Manage accounting operations in QuickBooks Online
- Understand accounting processes, controls, and operational finance
Requirements
- Proven experience serving as a Controller or Interim Controller in a small-to-mid-sized company environment
- Hands-on ownership of accounting operations
- Experience managing accounting operations in QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, controls, and operational finance
- Experience with AP automation tools (e.g., Stampli) and operational systems integrations
Nice-to-Haves
- Cost accounting experience, particularly within manufacturing, construction, building materials, or related industries
- Background supporting high-growth organizations
- CPA preferred but not required
