Controller
About the role
You will step into a pivotal leadership role as the senior financial operator for an established leader in offsite homebuilding. By turning complex manufacturing and production data into high-level financial intelligence, you will directly influence profit margins and scalability. Working alongside executive leadership, you will play a key role in driving business growth and system automation.
Responsibilities
- Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to maintain absolute reporting accuracy.
- Design and execute dynamic 12-to-16-week cash flow forecasts tied directly to active production and sales queues.
- Implement robust job costing models per factory station to analyze material variance and optimize overall labor costs.
- Partner with purchasing to monitor pricing trends, negotiate vendor agreements, and optimize minimum/maximum inventory levels.
- Drive systems development by guiding the implementation of a scalable ERP platform to automate operational reporting.
- Supervise the bookkeeping team to ensure precise execution of payroll, tax compliance, and account reconciliations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a financial controller or senior accountant specifically within the construction sector.
- Strong technical proficiency in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and work-in-progress reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing direct reports and overseeing full-cycle bookkeeping operations.
- Advanced analytical capabilities with a track record of translating production metrics into clear financial strategies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Direct financial management experience within the modular or offsite construction industry.
- Prior experience leading or heavily supporting a company-wide ERP software implementation.
