Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily accounting operations and workflow coordination.
  • Oversee the monthly and annual close processes and ensure timely completion.
  • Achieve accuracy and timeliness in financial statement preparation and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entry processes.
  • Provide leadership and support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, transactional accounting, and accounting staff workflows.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Support treasury operations, banking administration, and cash management activities.
  • Coordinate tax-related accounting support and compliance activities.
  • Support debt compliance, lender reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Partner with the Financial Analyst on budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and operational analysis.
  • Support ownership reporting and executive financial presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and accounting workflow efficiency.
  • Support ERP/accounting systems administration and financial systems improvements.
  • Maintain organized accounting documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Partner with resort operational leaders and department managers.
  • Reduce operational dependency on the Chief Administrative and Finance Officer by leading day-to-day accounting operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with hospitality, resort, food & beverage, or multi-department operational accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
  • Experience managing accounting close processes and audits.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity HCM preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
