Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations and workflow coordination.
- Oversee the monthly and annual close processes and ensure timely completion.
- Achieve accuracy and timeliness in financial statement preparation and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entry processes.
- Provide leadership and support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, transactional accounting, and accounting staff workflows.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Support treasury operations, banking administration, and cash management activities.
- Coordinate tax-related accounting support and compliance activities.
- Support debt compliance, lender reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Partner with the Financial Analyst on budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, and operational analysis.
- Support ownership reporting and executive financial presentations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and accounting workflow efficiency.
- Support ERP/accounting systems administration and financial systems improvements.
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Partner with resort operational leaders and department managers.
- Reduce operational dependency on the Chief Administrative and Finance Officer by leading day-to-day accounting operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience preferred.
- Preference given to candidates with hospitality, resort, food & beverage, or multi-department operational accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
- Experience managing accounting close processes and audits.
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity HCM preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
