Controller
The Controller position at a well-established manufacturing organization based in Staunton, Virginia or Richmond, Virginia offers the chance to partner directly with executive leadership and drive financial strategy, operational excellence, and business growth.
About the role
This is an onsite opportunity for a hands-on leadership role overseeing accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and ERP optimization. The role requires strong collaboration with operations and executive leadership to improve financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Oversee manufacturing accounting functions with a strong focus on standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, multi-state sales tax requirements, and financial policies.
- Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve profitability, reporting, and overall business performance.
- Drive ERP optimization, process improvements, and operational efficiencies across the accounting function.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting and finance functions within a manufacturing environment utilizing standard costing.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and internal controls.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and partner effectively with operational leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
Compensation and Benefits
- $140,000 - $150,000 annual salary.
