About the role

The Controller at Roberts Resorts & Communities is responsible for building the financial foundation for the company's growth. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team
• Drive accurate and timely financial reporting
• Resolve accounting issues and clean up legacy processes
• Create and document accounting policies and procedures
• Build scalable processes that support future growth
• Partner with operations leaders across multiple communities
• Leverage technology and automation tools to improve efficiency
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and increase financial visibility

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
• Experience in multi-entity organizations, real estate, hospitality, property management, or similarly complex businesses
• Experience building or improving accounting functions, systems, and processes
• Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on accounting work
• Resourceful, adaptable, and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
• Experience in a growing, family-owned company or startup is highly valued
• CPA preferred

• Experience with accounting software and systems
• Knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations
