Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure financial records are completed accurately and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Manage positive pay activity and related cash control processes to support secure and timely transaction handling.
  • Review departmental workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement more efficient practices while preserving a high standard of accuracy.
  • Prepare and deliver financial analyses, management reports, and ad hoc updates requested by senior leadership.
  • Direct the general ledger function, including oversight of month-end and year-end close activities and coordination of audit readiness efforts.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and the parent organization on recurring financial reporting, planning initiatives, and broader business support needs.
  • Develop and introduce process enhancements, tools, and department procedures that improve productivity and reporting effectiveness.
  • Lead, coach, and support accounting staff through training, performance feedback, annual goal setting, and resolution of employee relations matters within the department.
  • Contribute to system or process implementation efforts when needed, ensuring accounting requirements are addressed and operational continuity is maintained.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline required.
  • CPA designation, active license, or eligibility to obtain certification required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of leadership or management responsibility in a mid-sized or large accounting environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliation, general ledger oversight, GAAP, year-end close, and external audit support.
  • Experience in manufacturing or construction environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with positive pay processes and accounting systems such as AS400 is advantageous.
