On-siteAccountingTemporary
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a Contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who can quickly evaluate current operations, strengthen financial routines, and bring structure to a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the month-end close process, completing core accounting activities directly and working toward a significantly shorter close timeline.
- Evaluate existing accounting workflows, identify operational and financial risks, and implement immediate actions that improve stability and consistency.
- Capture and organize critical accounting procedures to preserve institutional knowledge and support continuity across the function.
- Supervise and mentor a six-person team by providing direct coaching, reviewing work product, and stepping in personally when additional support is needed.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and other accounting adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
- Consolidate financial results across multiple entities using Excel and deliver reliable reporting for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Oversee accounts receivable visibility, monitor collections performance, track daily cash activity, and maintain a rolling cash forecast.
- Produce bank reporting materials and lending-related documentation, including recurring support for loan advance requests.
- Analyze trial balances, investigate variances, and identify issues such as cutoff errors, missing invoices, and potential misstatements.
- Partner with operations on billing accuracy, costing, profitability review, inventory reconciliation, commission reporting, sales tax filings, and ongoing integration-related accounting support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience, including responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead from the front in a hands-on role rather than operating only at a high level.
- Strong background in cash forecasting, financial analysis, and interpreting accounting data to support business decisions.
- Experience managing or developing accounting staff in an environment that requires coaching, review, and process reinforcement.
- Advanced Excel skills with proven capability in multi-entity consolidations and detailed account analysis.
- Knowledge of core accounting areas such as accruals, deferrals, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, commissions, and sales tax.
- Comfortable working through ambiguity, manual processes, and shifting priorities while maintaining urgency and attention to detail.
Benefits
- Medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
- Eligibility to enroll in our company 401(k) plan.
