Responsibilities
- Direct the month-end and year-end closing cycle, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Manage the general ledger and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to maintain reliable records.
- Produce monthly financial statements and management reports that clearly communicate business performance.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and daily cash activity.
- Build budgets, update forecasts, and perform financial analysis to support planning and operational decisions.
- Work closely with department and operational leaders to identify opportunities to improve margins and overall profitability.
- Refine accounting workflows and reinforce internal controls to promote accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary contact for external audits and assist with tax-related financial preparation.
- Maintain accurate financial reporting within QuickBooks and support a future accounting system transition as needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership within finance operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle accounting and completing timely month-end close activities.
- Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles and established accounting practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience using QuickBooks for financial management and reporting.
- Ability to analyze financial results and translate data into practical business recommendations.
- Congstruction industry accounting experience is beneficial.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
