Responsibilities
- Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting across the business.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for multiple entities while maintaining alignment with U.S. GAAP and company accounting standards.
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash activity.
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team while building efficient processes that can scale with organizational growth.
- Oversee reconciliations, journal entry approvals, and close documentation to strengthen accuracy and consistency in financial records.
- Establish and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance practices to meet federal, state, and local reporting obligations.
- Support accounting oversight for utility-scale solar projects by reviewing project costs, revenue recognition, forecasting inputs, and margin performance.
- Partner with executives, project teams, lenders, investors, and external auditors to deliver reporting packages, audit support, and financial documentation.
- Monitor liquidity and cash flow, assist with banking and debt-related requirements, and contribute to project financing and capital activity.
- Drive process improvements through automation, reporting enhancements, KPI development, and financial dashboard creation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in a controller or senior accounting capacity.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and U.S. GAAP within a multi-entity business structure.
- Background in project accounting and construction-related accounting, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, or other project-based industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage close processes, consolidated reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience overseeing core accounting operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
- Proficiency with NetSuite and strong familiarity with accounting systems, reporting tools, and process automation initiatives.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
- Effective leadership and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work closely with executives, operations teams, and external stakeholders.
