About the role
This contract role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Coordinate audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
- Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
- Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Support system implementations and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year institution
- 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, including hands-on monthly close experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with QuickBooks and Transaction Pro preferred
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Competent in using standard office technology including computers, phones, scanners, and copiers
- CPA preferred but not required
