About the role

This contract role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Coordinate audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
• Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Support system implementations and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year institution
• 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, including hands-on monthly close experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with QuickBooks and Transaction Pro preferred
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Competent in using standard office technology including computers, phones, scanners, and copiers
• CPA preferred but not required
