Controller

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, treasury, and general ledger, while leading and developing a team of 10+ staff.
• Manage month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
• Partner with technical accounting to ensure ASC 606 compliance, particularly for complex government and commercial contracts.
• Lead government audits (e.g., DCAA/DCMA) and support external financial audits; ensure compliance with CAS, FAR, and DFARS.
• Implement and maintain SOX 404 compliance and a strong internal control environment; develop scalable accounting policies and procedures.
• Work with leadership and finance teams to deliver insights that support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership at Controller/Assistant Controller level
• Government Contracting experience strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404
• ERP system proficiency and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical, communication, and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
• Ability to obtain a DoD clearance
• CPA and/or MBA required
• GovCon ERP experience (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) strongly preferred
