About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee daily financial operations, manage cash forecasting, and ensure accurate reporting and analysis across multiple business entities. Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, and wire transfers.
• Develop and maintain accurate cash forecasting models to support business needs and seasonal fluctuations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial processes across multiple business entities.
• Handle intercompany consolidations, including the elimination of rents, sales, and costs, and prepare accurate financial documentation.
• Assist with year-end activities, including balance sheet closures, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Utilize Navision and Jet Analytics tools to extract, analyze, and present financial data in a clear and actionable format.
• Monitor and analyze cash flow to address inventory constraints and other financial challenges effectively.
• Lead financial variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Support the implementation of streamlined processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
• Prepare and present reports for management, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or as a Controller in a similar role.
• Proficiency in cash forecasting and cash flow management.
• Strong knowledge of intercompany consolidations and eliminations.
• Experience with year-end closings, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Dynamics Nav/Navision and FP&A tools like Jet Analytics.
• Background in wholesale or multi-entity business operations is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
