What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, cash, fixed assets, and intercompany activity
- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS
- Drive accounting for a project-based business, with strong oversight of job costing, project tracking, contract accounting, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure project financials are complete, accurate, and aligned with business performance
- Review contract activity, cost estimates, project margins, and WIP reporting to support accurate reporting and forecasting
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax requirements, and other regulatory obligations
- Manage and mentor the assistant controller and accounting staff through all close-related activities
- Perform detailed balance sheet and key account analysis, identifying discrepancies and driving timely resolution
- Support cash management efforts, including project cash flow visibility, working capital analysis, and banking support
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit readiness, schedules, and issue remediation
- Identify and lead process improvements that make the accounting function more efficient, scalable, and operationally aligned

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, engineering, contracting, or other project-based environments strongly preferred
- Understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting, revenue recognition, WIP schedules, job costing, and project margin analysis a plus
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations
- ERP system proficiency and advanced Excel skills
