About the role
Inland Empire Paper Company seeks a hands-on Controller to oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiency. Reporting to senior leadership, the Controller will partner with operations, supply chain, and other departments to support strategic decisions and drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage standard costing, job costing, and inventory accounting processes.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, overhead, scrap, and production efficiencies.
- Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulator requirements.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors and tax advisors.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
- Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor cash flow, capital expenditures, and working capital performance.
- Supervise and mentor daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and staff accounting functions.
- Establish performance goals and support employee development.
- Promote process improvement and accountability throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required).
- At least ten (10) years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing industry or related field preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred but not required.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience, particularly JD Edwards (JDE) preferred.
- QuickBooks Online experience preferred but not required.
- Five (5) to Seven (7) years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.

Pay
The Controller's pay range is $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and education.
