About the Role

The Finance Controller plays a critical role in managing all financial aspects related to supply chain operations at Link Snacks. This position develops and maintains financial models to track and forecast supply chain costs, including warehousing, transportation (inbound and outbound), third-party providers, and repacking operations. The role ensures accurate inventory levels, analyzes key performance metrics, and partners with site leadership to maximize workflow efficiencies. Additionally, the Distribution Finance Controller manages SG&A expenses for Procurement, Logistics, and Customer Service, oversees financial reporting, annual operating plan development, compliance, cost control, network and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, engage, and professionally develop two direct and five indirect team members, focusing on functional, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Direct and manage transportation reporting metrics, tracking models, and analysis (e.g., volume mix impact).
  • Handle month-end close, including period-end journal entries (JEs), financial roll-up, preparing decks, and participating in Operations results meetings.
  • Serve as the Secondary Manufacturing Finance Lead: manage cost accounting and analysis, conduct labor analysis and review, update Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing, and provide project support.
  • Provide warehouse operation finance support, including labor analysis and review, and project support.
  • Oversee and analyze capital expenditures, providing necessary support.
  • Manage SG&A expenses for Customer Service, Logistics, and Procurement.
  • Support continuous improvement through pipeline ideation, financial validation, and reporting.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial software and systems to streamline distribution processes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and lead the Distribution Center to support staff located in Underwood and Laurens, IA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related professional CPG finance experience; 3 years of leadership experience managing a team of accountants, financial analysts, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Distribution Center and supply chain operations, preferably in the CPG space.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to analyze financial data, make informed decisions, and communicate findings.
  • Experience using an ERP (ideally SAP) to control supply chain financials.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Transportation Financials and fuel impacts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior cost accounting experience in retail, food, grocery, or consumer goods organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with TMS (Transportation Management System) or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SAP.
  • CPA license.
  • Prior business management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations, modern warehouse procedures, or warehouse management systems.

Working Conditions

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000 annually. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience.
