About the role
As a Controller, you will ensure the accurate management and reporting of the location’s finances while working with the location leadership team to develop action plans that continually drive financial performance. Reporting to the Regional Finance leader, you will remain part of the location leadership team, participating in management meetings and building strong relationships with location stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Partner with operations teams to clarify financial goals and targets
- Work with regional and operations finance teams to implement financial optimization programs
- Develop action plans to drive financial performance
- Help operations teams understand financial data and take actions to drive improvements
- Work closely with partner finance teams where applicable
- Refine and update weekly location financial forecasts with the location leader
- Complete a monthly close of the general ledger
- Proactively manage accounts receivable based on contractual terms
- Complete the ‘MSR’ daily and produce a balanced month-end ‘MSR’
- Monitor and manage credit card settlements
- Manage wire transfer requests and subcontractor payments
- Oversee the cash room and armored car pick-ups
- Ensure an accurate and timely month-end close process
- Manage capital asset tracking at the location
- Oversee all annual budgetary processes, including posting AP accruals and transfers
- Ensure and maintain the accuracy of tax rates for financial reporting
- Ensure appropriate retention and management of all documentation
- Complete annual financial audits
- Oversee the timely collection of accounts receivable
- Balance direct bills and invoice adjustments
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years in a Finance/Accounting role
- Operational experience in food and beverage is preferred
- Business Degree and/or CPA certification is preferred
- High level of computer literacy
- Passion for hospitality, food, and retail
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work non-standard hours as dictated by event schedule
