About the role
This role is responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting functions at LangChain. The Financial Controller will ensure that the books are clean, the close process runs on time, and the leadership team has the numbers needed to make good decisions. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role works closely with the Finance, Legal, People, and Operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process — on time and with accuracy
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and equity administration
- Build and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Drive improvements to our financial systems and processes as we scale
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller role
- CPA required
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience in high-growth SaaS or technology companies — you understand what "scaling" actually means for a finance function
- Strong working knowledge of accounting systems
- Track record of building or improving close processes and internal controls
- Comfortable working across functions and communicating financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
