Controller

About the role

We're looking for a seasoned Controller to oversee all financial and accounting operations across our affiliate network. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for producing accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. The right candidate brings deep GAAP knowledge, healthcare experience, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
• Internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and financial integrity
• Budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning in partnership with the CFO
• Performance analysis across departments and service lines — identifying trends and recommending improvements
• Audit coordination and primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Payroll monitoring, reconciliation of cost allocations, withholdings, and liabilities
• Leadership, training, and performance management of the accounting team

Requirements

• 10+ years of combined accounting and finance experience
• Prior experience managing budgets in excess of $300M
• Healthcare billing and finance background strongly preferred
• Advanced degree in Accounting or MBA; CPA highly preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge including Cash Basis accounting
• Experience with month-end/year-end close, financial statement preparation, and GL functions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with clinical and operational leadership
