Controller

Responsibilities

• Direct all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Generate comprehensive financial statements and performance reports for executive leadership.
• Oversee general accounting, cost accounting, and cash flow management.
• Coordinate external audits and manage banking relationships.
• Maintain general ledgers across multiple corporate entities.
• Supervise complex inventory and cost accounting systems common to production environments.
• Monitor departmental performance, analyze productivity metrics, and identify cost-saving opportunities across operations and purchasing.
• Provide oversight for standard corporate risk management, including commercial insurance and standard corporate benefits administration.
• Supervise and develop the internal accounting and purchasing staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. An advanced degree or professional certification (CPA/CMA) is an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or equivalent senior financial leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• A minimum of 10 years of total progressive experience in cost accounting and corporate finance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard financial reporting tools.
• Experience utilizing standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, corporate payroll platforms, and fixed asset software.
• ERP system implementation or migration experience is a plus.
