About the Role
Responsible for developing, directing, and managing the company’s finance functions to maximize return on financial assets. Will manage the traditional functional disciplines of accounting, financial planning and analysis by complying with financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal and external financial policies and procedures according to GAAP and IRS guidelines.
- Oversee the annual audit process.
- Develop and maintain department strategic goals.
- Supervise the preparation of all payroll tax filings, tax deposits, and other payroll tax communications.
- Handle tax planning and compliance.
- Support management in analysis, process, negotiation, implementation, and documentation of corporate development initiatives, including asset purchases/sales, acquisitions, and mergers.
- Provide financial, risk management, and senior management guidance for major corporate decisions involving customers and pricing policies.
- Report the status of the financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, filing financial reports, and advising management on required actions.
- Uphold the company’s mission and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance or Accounting.
- Five years of financial accounting experience plus a minimum of two years’ experience in management/supervision (preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures, property and cost controls, audit procedures, and fiscal management.
- Experience with PC operating systems (Windows) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and ERM software.
- Ability to oversee and manage multiple tasks while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, contract agencies, funding sources, and the general public.

Work is performed in a typical office setting or from a home office.
