Controller

About the role

G Systems, Inc., a growing technology company, seeks a Controller for full-time permanent employment at their facility in Irving, Texas. The company specializes in engineering services and electronics manufacturing, focusing on custom test and measurement systems for the aerospace and defense industries.

Responsibilities

• Planning, directing, and coordinating all finance and accounting operational functions
• Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Manages the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results
• Covers coordination and preparation of internal and external financial statements
• Provides management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Manages the budget and forecast process
• Affairs with assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluates accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases
• Manages and prepares earned value job cost reporting
• Develops and monitors business performance metrics
• Oversees tax planning and manages corporate tax reporting by outsourced CPAs
• Manages HR benefits administration through third-party providers

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience with a small or middle market business
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent business experience. A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) is a plus
• Solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills
• Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and excellent presentation skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Eligibility for ITAR and defense contract work. (US Person)
• Sage, Peachtree Accounting experience is a plus
• Experience in Aerospace/Defense/Space industries is a plus
• ERP experience (sourcing, use, implementation) is a plus
• Experience in Defense Contracting Accounting – DCAA compliance is a plus

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience level.

Schedule

The position is in-person in an office environment (not remote). The company culture promotes work/life balance, therefore, this position requires 40-hour flex-time week.
