About the role

The Chittenden Solid Waste District is seeking a Controller to oversee the finance department of a countywide municipal organization with an annual budget of $16 million.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining financial records
• Organizing and preparing the annual budget
• Managing computerized accounting system
• Overseeing financial controls
• Monitoring expenditures and cash flow
• Payroll
• Receivables
• Financial reporting
• Compliance
• Leading and developing an internal staff of three
• Supporting program managers to navigate financial management

Requirements

• Degree in accounting or finance
• Seven years of experience
• Three years of supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• CPA certification
• Governmental accounting experience

Skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of NetSuite

Pay

Full-time salary starting range between $95,000‑$110,000.

Schedule

Flexible hours offered for a full-time or a part-time schedule.
