Controller

CFS has partnered with a highly respected and growing engineering firm in Hunt Valley, MD to hire a Controller to lead the accounting function and oversee a talented team. About the role

Hybrid work environment (3 days onsite) in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Manage AP, AR, payroll, billing, and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Supervise and mentor 2-3 accounting team members.
• Oversee project accounting, contract administration, client billings, and revenue tracking.
• Identify and implement process improvements to support continued company growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7-10+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Architecture, Engineering, or Professional Services industry experience.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management expertise.
• Deltek experience a plus.
• Positive, collaborative, and personable leadership style.
