Controller

Lead multiple real estate accounting teams to provide accurate and timely client reporting for assigned portfolios of CBRE clients and properties. Implement processes to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Manage client relationships for multiple strategic accounts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and price scope of service changes from team managers, and price additional services based on knowledge of the department's pricing platform.
• Identify and recommend consulting opportunities to managers, market leaders, and/or clients.
• Create pricing estimates for new business opportunities.
• Ensure monthly pricing allocations are accurately entered into PeopleSoft.
• Function as a single point of contact for a market and/or Strategic Account Client.
• Assist Senior Management with implementation of strategic department and corporate initiatives.
• Troubleshoot called out issues and ensure all customer requests are handled timely, accurately, and with a focus on customer service.
• Create a positive customer experience by opening and maintaining constructive and reliable lines of communication.
• Participate and/or lead all aspects of internal and external property and client transitions.
• Work with other internal teams in handling special requirements as defined in the Management Agreement and scope of services in the Financial Services Agreement.
• Verify and ensure accounting team's debt, real estate tax, sales tax, and owner distribution payments are made timely and internal databases are updated accordingly.
• Review staff work product, including financial packages, to ensure complete, accurate, and timely release to internal departments and external clients.
• Provide formal supervision to individual employees within a single functional or operational area. Approve subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment.
• Plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
• Solve sophisticated problems and evaluate options in complex situations.
• Make decisions with an in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results.
• Responsible for setting department goals. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department, and/or line of business.
• Comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.
• Respond effectively to critical issues.
• Write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using a distinctive style.

Requirements

• Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 10 years prior experience, including prior management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of financial terms, principles, and compliance.
• Ability to calculate complex figures and prepare budgets.
• Conduct financial/business analysis, including preparation of reports.

Pay

The minimum salary for the Controller position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary is $130,000 annually. The compensation offered will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
