This is an onsite contract role based in Greensboro, NC, with a first-shift Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM). The assignment is anticipated to be a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension or conversion.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations for one or more business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
- Provide financial and operational reporting to leadership teams to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Manage general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and reconciliations.
- Support and oversee job costing, payroll processing, and related financial controls.
- Monitor business performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve operational and financial results.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Lead internal and external audit activities and drive implementation of audit recommendations.
- Partner with HR and leadership teams to monitor employee benefit costs and related financial impacts.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Support cash flow management and financial planning activities to ensure sound fiscal performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 7+ years of accounting and finance experience, including ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- CPA or similar professional certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow functions.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Experience utilizing accounting, ERP, and payroll systems.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, construction, HVAC, or professional engineering environments.
- Experience with job costing and project-based financial management.
- Experience supporting multi-entity financial operations.
- Background leading audit activities and process improvement initiatives.
