Responsibilities

  • Fabricate control panels, perform field installation and commissioning procedures for control panels and field instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and calibrate field instruments, equipment, and control panels.
  • Test, analyze, document, and update drawings of finished control panels.
  • Maintain all M.C. Dean-provided shop tools, meters, and associated equipment.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions (e.g., work orders, diagrams, wire lists) to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
  • Perform panel build, mounting, penetrations, wiring, and cosmetic repairs.
  • Safely use and maintain hand and power tools.
  • Follow company procedures and policies, including safety practices for industrial manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience in a job shop environment and a minimum of 1 year of electrical/control experience.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
  • Perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead on a routine basis.
  • Good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
  • Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong (without solving the problem).
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including identifying relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
  • See details at close range (within a few feet).
  • Listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.

Skills

  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Experience with power tools, including drills, saws, and punch sets (corded, cordless, and hydraulic).
  • Basic communication and organizational skills.
