About the role

The Control System Owner is responsible for end-to-end development of vehicle control systems, including requirements definition, risk assessments, supplier alignment, and verification activities. In this role, you will deliver high-quality control systems in PACCAR's vehicles, while meeting program budgets, schedules, and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and release electronic components and control systems for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Manage the quality, cost, timing, and performance (QCTP) of ECUs and base software sourced from suppliers.
  • Lead supplier management activities, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables and adherence to development processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including software engineering, electrical engineering, supplier quality, purchasing, IT, and test teams.
  • Support launch activities at truck assembly plants and troubleshoot field issues as needed.
  • Ensure industry-leading quality and reliability within area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, mentoring, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Identify and drive continuous-improvement initiatives focused on quality enhancement and process efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
    • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in design, release, or integration of automotive or commercial vehicle systems.
    • Hands-on experience solving complex engineering problems using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Familiarity with Automotive SPICE process.
    • Experience working within agile development frameworks.
    • Demonstrated capability in managing detailed supplier technical deliverables.
    • Advanced degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • The salary range for this role is $86,900.00 - $136,300.00 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
