Control Account Manager, Principal
Leidos is seeking a Control Account Manager (CAM) Lead to support the Hypersonic Portfolio within the Kinetic Effects Business Area of the Defense Systems Sector. This role provides management oversight for scope, cost, and schedule goals on the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program, working on-site at the Leidos Hypersonic Integration facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
About the role
The CAM Lead serves in a business operations role with oversight across all control accounts, ensuring successful monitoring and control of the performance measurement baseline. Responsibilities include leading EVM/Scheduling/Business Rhythm coordination and establishing processes, procedures, and a body of knowledge for the CAM function. This position is integral to the Leidos Corporate Earned Value Management (EVM) Center of Excellence, contributing to scheduling, planning, EVMS infrastructure, tools, implementations, training, and surveillance.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly priority calls with fellow CAMs and the EVM/Scheduling support team.
- Participate in monthly risk, issues, and opportunities (RIO) board reviews.
- Attend Technical Interchange Meetings, Change Control Boards, and other meetings to ensure valid input to the EVM system.
- Work with CAMs to align technical/functional resources to perform work in accordance with the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Review staffing needs with all CAMs and functional managers across each control account.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly inputs to the Leidos EVM tool (LENS), including changes related to Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) status, baseline change requests (BCRs), estimate to complete (ETC) updates, and variance analysis reporting (VAR).
- Develop and coordinate corrective action plans with fellow CAMs.
- Analyze Estimate at Complete (EAC) realism and provide feedback to CAMs.
- Provide continuous review and analysis of program performance data at the work package (WP) and control account (CA) level.
- Provide inputs to the scheduling team on task logic and schedule risk estimates for schedule risk analysis (SRA) output and associated schedule margin.
- Work with contracts to ensure contract modifications are captured within the total contract value and disseminated to the contract budget base.
- Review weekly labor reports to validate charging accuracy and adjustments needed to the EAC.
- Work with CAMs on scope definition, WBS formation, and decomposition of Control Accounts and Work Packages to identify discrete, deliverable-oriented tasking.
- Identify appropriate earning standards or Earned Value Technique (EVT); ensure offline QBD are suitable and maintained per the Leidos corporate Earned Value Management System Description (EVMSD).
- Partner with the finance team to review funding limitations, open commitments, fee adjustments, and sales targets.
- Influence functional team leaders regarding solution design, process, and approaches.
- Develop corporate CAM processes and procedures.
- Lead CAM development workshops on a recurring basis.
Requirements
- BA degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience; additional education, experience, or training will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of tools like Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP, EVM Software (Deltek Cobra, EVMS forProject, OPDEC IPM, SSI tools).
- Proactively communicates with internal team members across multiple functional areas and sites.
- Previous experience in a lead role on a program requiring EVMS.
- Prior success managing multiple priorities and meeting strict business calendar due dates to maintain EVMS deliverables.
- Experience with developing and/or providing Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and critical path management (CPM).
- Experience with development of Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Complete (EAC).
- Experience with implementing and maintaining baseline change control processes.
- Experience with participating in IBR events.
- US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain at least a DoD Secret clearance.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama.
Preferred Qualifications
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Earned Value Professional (EVP) certification.
- Prior experience with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and testing.
- An active DoD Secret clearance.

Pay
Pay Range: $116,350.00 - $210,325.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement, or other law.
