About the role
ABRAMS is a company founded in 1949 that specializes in art and illustrated books. We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our Legal Team to support our publishing operations.
Responsibilities
- Drafting contracts, contract amendments, and other legal documents in partnership with the Contracts team
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating subsidiary rights agreements
- Processing contracts for signature
- Registering copyrights for all ABRAMS books with the Library of Congress
- Ensuring contract data is accurately maintained in the Title Management System in partnership with the Contracts team
- Managing the processing of contract payments due upon signature
- Providing internal status updates on open and pending contracts
- Responding to requests for reversion of rights
- Collaborating with the Contracts team to support the efficient operation of the department
Requirements
- 1–3+ years of experience in publishing, a literary agency, or a related field
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across the Contracts Team and other departments
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Preferred Candidates
- Prior contracts experience
- A bachelor's degree
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of copyright law, contract law, and publishing industry standards. They should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

- Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with contract management software

Pay
The base salary range for this position is (50,000 - $55,000) per year. The final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
Schedule
This position is in New York, NY, and follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence three days per week.
