About the role
This position is responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts across different business units and subject areas. Duties include working with customers, suppliers, merchants, and other business partners on complex agreements.
Responsibilities
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide range and complexity of commercial contracts.
- Supports M&A activities.
- Collaborates with internal partners on privacy, security, compliance, and risk management.
- Provides legal guidance on commercial contracting issues.
- Manages contract templates and prepares unique agreements.
- Develops and implements contract policies and procedures.
- Supervises contract administration and outside counsel as needed.
- Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admitted to Arizona or another state bar.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of transactional legal experience, preferably in-house.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to define legal issues and risks.
- Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Prior experience with contract management processes and CLM tools.
- Unyielding commitment to professional ethics.

Pay
The base pay scale for this position in Phoenix, AZ/Chicago, IL/Washington, DC is $154,000 - $193,000, and in New York, NY/San Francisco, CA is $186,000 - $232,000. Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
