Contracting Project Manager
About the role
Trane Technologies is a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation. This role is within the Contracting Project Manager team, responsible for managing multi-million dollar construction, energy services, and HVAC controls projects.
Responsibilities
- Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation, project development, and proposals.
- Validate project scope, cost, schedule by reviewing contract documents, attending pre-bid validation meetings, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations.
- Responsible for change order management by identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizing pricing strategies, and closing orders providing total solutions across business streams.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting company initiatives, building customer relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates.
- Utilizes properly qualified subcontractors, oversees subcontractor RFQ process, awards subcontracts, manages subcontractor execution, collaborates with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations, project safety, and fosters professional relationships with subcontractors.
- Create and maintain project schedules generating task, dependencies, milestones, critical path, resource assignments, identifies future looking planning needs and resource constraints, and collaborates with Controls PM to establish project task, communications for project progress, and reviews of plans/specifications and control submittals.
- Lead all aspects of project administration including, responsibility for knowledge of and adherence to contract penalty clauses and/or liquidated damages, analyzes reporting to identify project deficiencies and provides guidance on corrective actions, manages projects to business compliance, project documentation, safety guidelines, and maneuvers through governing agencies requirements including the state, city, county, federal and local level.
Requirements
- Advanced understanding of the development phase related to construction energy projects and opportunities, knowledgeable on all construction systems and technologies.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to mentor other project managers, aptitude to influence without authority, organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to successfully lead a project team.
- Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management Degree.
- Combination of degree or 7-10 years experience.
- Ability to obtain a General Contracting license a plus.
- Experience with Project Schedules / PM Construction Software.

Pay
$89,585.00 - $143,700.00 Annual Base Salary Range
Schedule
Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
