About the role
The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) seek two unpaid contracted student interns for the Park Ranger Mounted Unit Intern position for the 2026 Fall Semester. The internship runs from September 13, 2026, to November 21, 2026, with weekly hours of 22.5 at the DCR facility located at 705 Hillside Street, Milton, MA.
Responsibilities
- Mucking, bedding, grooming, clipping, sheath cleaning, and picking paddocks
- Tack cleaning and maintenance
- Assisting with park special events, programs, and stable tours that require equine support
- Filing and data entry tasks to support office operations
Qualifications
- Ability to perform equine care tasks such as lunging, round penning, and natural horsemanship
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Acrobat Pro
- Eligibility to earn academic credit through the applicant’s college or university
