About the role
The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for a Park Assistant Intern (Unpaid Contracted Student Intern) for the 2026 Fall Semester to perform duties on a part-time basis. This internship is designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining facilities and equipment
- Landscaping
- Interacting with the public and assisting visitors
- Assisting in the parks invasive plant removal and rewilding programs
- Cleaning and maintaining facilities as needed
- Light landscaping and trail maintenance
Qualifications and skills
- Knowledge of native flora and fauna and invasive plants
- Some familiarity with hand tools, cleaning and maintenance
- Landscaping experience
Intern will be provided with instruction if not familiar with any of these skills.
What you'll gain
Intern will gain knowledge of park management practices, ecology, hospitality and landscaping.
