The partner company is seeking a Contract Technical UI/UX Designer - Video Games based in the United States. This role combines creative design expertise with technical implementation skills, focusing on the creation of engaging, intuitive, and immersive user interfaces for interactive entertainment experiences.

About the Role

The Technical UI/UX Designer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing in-game interfaces while ensuring a seamless player experience. This role requires strong collaboration across creative and technical teams to deliver polished, scalable UI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize in-game interfaces while ensuring a seamless player experience.
  • Execute UI designs directly within the game engine, maintaining consistency in visual style, placement, functionality, and data structures.
  • Ensure interfaces are readable, accessible, responsive, and optimized across different platforms.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, UI engineers, technical designers, and other stakeholders to deliver features aligned with creative direction and production timelines.
  • Identify, implement, document, and promote UI Blueprint architecture best practices and workflows.
  • Solve complex technical and design challenges while balancing performance, usability, accessibility, and visual quality.
  • Support the creation of immersive experiences by ensuring interfaces enhance rather than disrupt gameplay.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting.
  • Experience creating complex real-time user interfaces and implementing them directly in-engine.
  • Strong understanding of UI systems, engine technologies, optimization principles, and data structures.
  • Ability to think both creatively and technically, considering usability, accessibility, and performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for improving quality and player experience.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical and design challenges.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and incorporating constructive feedback.
  • Experience iterating quickly while meeting deadlines and production requirements.
  • Knowledge of motion design, UI animation, in-engine UI materials, or programming languages such as C++ or C# is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards in games and experience with atmospheric or horror game environments is beneficial.
