Contract Specialist
Responsibilities
- Develop subcontract specifications, terms, and conditions for procuring specialized materials, equipment, and services.
- Create bid packages, conduct bidder's conferences, and evaluate proposals for conformity to contract requirements.
- Select or recommend successful bidders, negotiate subcontract provisions, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts.
- Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.
- Communicate between the laboratory and subcontractors to ensure fulfillment of contract terms.
Requirements
- EX2 level requires a bachelor’s and 2 years of experience, or an advanced degree.
- EX3 level requires a bachelor’s and 5 years of experience, or an advanced degree and 2 years of experience.
- A strong preference for previous experience in acquisitions in a Federal environment.
- A strong preference for contacts experience in a DOE M&O environment.
Qualifications
While not specified in the job description, typically qualifications would include knowledge of federal contracting processes, experience with subcontracting, and familiarity with DOE regulations.
Skills
Skills typically required include negotiation, contract administration, project management, and proficiency with procurement software.

Schedule
You will work a 9/80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls EROB facility with every other Friday off.
About the Role
You will work under the supervision of the Manager, Infrastructure Acquisitions. You will not have direct managerial responsibilities.
