Contract position in San Antonio, TX – Emergency Room (ER) RN. Assignment length: 6 weeks, 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Workdays: Rotating weekends (every other weekend)
- Call requirements: Yes
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume ER setting
- Float as needed per Methodist Floating Policy
- Participate in procedures including:
- Conscious sedation
- Intubations
- Behavioral health watch
- Sepsis and stroke management (including TPA administration)
- Chest pain/heart alerts
- Use Meditech documentation system
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of ER experience
- Current certifications:
- PALS or ENPC
- ACLS
- BLS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Specialty/unit certification: CEN preferred
- Meditech experience preferred
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Navy (undershirts and jackets in white, navy, or black only)
- Nails: No acrylic, length ≤ ¼ inch, clean, no chipped polish
- Hair: Off shoulders, natural color
- Tattoos: Cover whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings visible; all others prohibited
