Contract Management and Vendor Relations Intern (one year - part time)

About the role

Looking for a bright, hardworking, and independent individual to fill a one-year, committed, paid intern position. The Strategic Technology Vendor Relations (STVR) team is responsible for engaging with Technology vendors to support the Church's contracting, services, and relationship needs.

This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used to provide valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in an actual work setting.

Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. The hours worked must be during normal working hours, Monday through Friday. Hours worked will not exceed 20 hours per week. The intern will report directly to their hiring manager but may be involved in projects with multiple team members.

The internship position represents a unique and exciting opportunity to work with highly skilled professionals and contribute to the Lord's work in a meaningful way. The intern would be part of an innovative, spiritually driven, and motivated team and culture. The internship will provide experience with Technology contracting and procurement.

The position is with the STVR team with offices located at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, UT or the Riverton Office Building in Riverton, UT. The intern’s working location is anticipated to be at the Riverton Office Building.

Responsibilities

  • Meet rigid and challenging deadlines
  • Work in harmony with other people
  • Follow explicit direction on each assignment
  • Give full attention to details and be a quick learner
  • Demonstrate independence in working on given assignments, yet proactive in seeking direction and assignments from team members
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and master new processes and systems
  • Exercise sound judgment of Church doctrine, organization, policy and protocol

Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The intern receives assignments from STVR team members. Work is reviewed by the supervisor and, at times, by the team manager.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an educational institution or within one year following graduation
  • Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
